CHAD KIMBALL: WEST SEATTLE NATIVE AND TONY NOMINEE |
"I am so excited. I am shocked, actually! I found out about the nomination a little late, because my phone died and I accidentally e-mailed my publicist the wrong home number. So she called some random person in New York and left a message on some poor person's phone that now thinks they are nominated for a Tony. My manager of 12 years wound up getting a hold of me to tell me the news. My first call was to my mother. It's been a tough year for her, she's a stage 3 breast cancer survivor so to be able to tell her this news was really great. I'm so happy." Chad Kimball, nominee for Best Actor in a Musical for Memphis

THE BELLE OF AMHERST |
Acclaimed solo-performer Maria Glanz portrays the poet Emily Dickinson in Sound Theatre Company’s production of The Belle of Amherst, by William Luce. One of the most beloved American poets, Emily Dickinson is known only through her letters and her vast collection of poems; much of her private, secluded life in Amherst, Massachusetts, in the mid-nineteenth century remains a mystery. Her poetry, published after her death, reveals a contemporary sensibility that transcends the limitations of her provincial life, her gender and her era. Accompanied by composer Brad Hawkins’ live original musical score, William Luce’s tour de force one-woman drama utilizes these writings to depict a witty, passionate, and conflicted woman wrestling with the largest questions of existence.

| | Ask the Auditor |
Quick tip ...
Why didn't *I* get that part? Directors help keep a theater viable - besides following an artistic vision. They must balance what the company wants with which actors audition. Your skills must balance well with others who would be cast. Its a question of timing & chemistry & - YES! - fate. All as difficult as finding the right career, meeting a soulmate or making a leap in learning. Don't sweat it - there is enough theater to go around for all of us. Need some advice or have a question, ask theAuditor
