REBOOT PRESENTS PRIVATE LIVES
Theater NewsReboot Theatre Company presents the 1937 classic Private Lives by Noël Coward. Divorcees Amanda and Elyot have coincidentally booked adjoining honeymoon suites with their new and wholly unsuitable spouses. When they rediscover why they love (and hate) each other, passion and hilarity ensues. This production will explore gender roles and identity within this hysterical and remarkably prescient comedy of manners.

Theater NewsNo Sex Please Were British opens on June 8th - July 14th, Every Friday & Saturday night at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $30 for Dessert Buffet & Show. The farce surrounds an assistant bank manager, Peter Hunter, who lives above his bank with his new bride Frances. When Frances innocently sends a mail order off for some Scandinavian glassware, what comes back is Scandinavian pornography. The two, along with the bank's frantic chief cashier Brian Runnicles, must decide what to do with the veritable floods of pornography, photographs, books, films and eventually girls that threaten to engulf this happy couple. The matter is considerably complicated by the presence of Eleanor (Peter's mother), Mr. Bromhead (his boss), Mr. Needham (a visiting bank inspector), and Vernon Paul (a police superintendent).

The revival of Broadway Bound’s production is a collaborative venture between ACT and Broadway Bound that will result in ten performances of 13 at ACT’s Falls Theatre, and will mark Broadway’s Bound first venture into Seattle’s professional theater scene.

MAE WEST FEST ANNOUNCES THE WINNERS OF THE FEMALE PROTAGONIST PROJECT CHALLE
Theater NewsIt is with great excitement and pleasure that Mae West Fest announces the winners of their challenge to female playwrights to create the "ultimate female protagonist." “We’re proud to encourage the creation of great roles for women, while also supporting the work of women writers nationwide,” said Roxanne Ray, Co-Artistic Director (Literary & Publications). Playwrights from as far as New York City and as near as Seattle’s Queen Anne submitted plays filled with women characters vying for the title of "ultimate female protagonist." The winners were chosen by panel of judges who are female protagonists in our local community. This panel of judges included Aimee Bruneau- freelance director, Blythe Chandler- Deputy Director, NARAL Pro-Choice Washington, Anita Montgomery- Literary Associate & Education Director, ACT Theatre, Stephanie Shine- Artistic Director, Seattle Shakespeare Company, and Marcie Sillman- Special Projects Reporter, KUOW.
